Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get more books?

On the Lists tab, tap Find more books and choose a book. It downloads to your phone with a picture and a recorded voice for every word. No account is needed.

How do I make my own list?

On the Lists tab, tap New list. Photograph a printed word list, choose a photo, or type the words. You check every word before it is saved. If some words do not have a card yet, they are sent to be made and arrive on your phone within a few days — the app checks by itself and you will see them appear.

What do the daily plan and the puppy do?

Today shows a few new words, the words that are due for review, and four short games, about 15 minutes in all. The puppy grows as you study a little each day. If you miss a few days, WordPaws welcomes you back gently instead of piling the words up.

How do groups and sharing work?

A group leader can share a book with the people in the group. To join, open the link or code the leader gave you, type a name for the leader (a first name is enough) and wait for the leader to let you in. Only the leader sees the name. A shared book arrives as a copy that cannot be changed.

How do I back up, or move to a new phone?

In Settings, choose Backup and export. A backup is a file saved where you choose, for example in Files; on the new phone, open WordPaws and choose Restore. Your learners, their progress and their pets come with it.

Does the app work offline?

Yes. Once a book is on your phone you can study it with no connection. You need a connection to find or download books, to join a group or share, and to receive the cards for words you sent in.

How do I report a word or a picture?

Email vocabpalace@6ray.com with the book and the word, and we will look at it right away.
